Up to this point, the focus has been awareness. Noticing the forces shaping how you think. But awareness alone doesn’t change outcomes. What matters is what you do with it.

Because the algorithms and AI agents surrounding you today are not passive. They are recommending, responding, teaching, nudging, and increasingly acting on your behalf. More importantly, they’re no longer confined to a screen.

Rethinking What It Means to “Surround Yourself”

One useful way to structure that council is through the four circles of brain health.

The Four Circles Influence

At a high level, every decision you make impacts four systems: your biology, your psychology, your relationships, and your sense of purpose.

Most decisions fail not because they are wrong in one dimension, but because they ignore the others.

An Agent Council ensures each of these perspectives has a seat at the table.

The biological lens focuses on energy, recovery, and physical state. It asks whether a decision will improve or degrade your ability to perform. Today, that voice is already emerging in wearables and training systems that track sleep, recovery, and performance, nudging you toward better habits. As these systems become more agentic, they won’t just report data — they’ll guide behavior in real time.

The psychological lens focuses on stress, clarity, and emotional regulation. It asks whether something creates focus or fragmentation. Early versions exist in mindfulness and meditation systems that guide attention and reduce cognitive noise. As these evolve, they begin to feel less like tools and more like adaptive companions that respond to your mental state.

The social lens focuses on connection and relationships. It asks how decisions affect the people around you. Today’s tools already shape how we communicate, but rarely with intention. An agent aligned to this lens would help strengthen relationships, not just optimize efficiency.

In practice, this means creating agents that represent each of these perspectives. Not as rigid personas, but as thinking roles.

When you bring a decision to your council, each agent evaluates it through its lens. One may push back on something that looks good on paper but drains your energy. Another may surface hidden stress. Another may highlight unintended consequences in relationships. Another may question whether the direction itself is worth pursuing.

You’re not looking for agreement. You’re looking for perspective.

Because better decisions are often found at the intersection of competing views.

Designing for the Future Environment

As agents move beyond the screen and into your environment, this council doesn’t just live in a chat interface. It travels with you.

In your car, your learning agent might continue a conversation from earlier in the day, challenge your assumptions, or test your understanding. A wearable might detect stress and shift your inputs toward recovery. Your environment begins to adapt not just to what you want, but to what you need.

The council becomes ambient. Always present. Always shaping.

The Real Shift

Some of the most important agents won’t be the ones you download. They’ll be the ones someone decides to build.

The goal isn’t to outsource your thinking. It’s to upgrade it.

Instead of reacting to whatever inputs show up, you design a system that consistently sharpens how you think, decide, and act.

Because in an agentic world, you will be surrounded.

The only question is by what and who gets a seat at your table.
